Benjamin Hindson

NGIN Chairman

Benjamin joined Marsh in 2014 on the Graduate Development Programme and has since held various roles across the firm including SME placement portfolio management, the Corporate CEO’s office and client management. Benjamin specialises in client service for communications, media and technology organisations providing specific insurance and risk management insights and thought leadership for the sector. He helps businesses to identify, categorise and quantify their risks, develop risk financing strategies and provide on-going support with risk management strategies.

ACII qualified, Benjamin is interested in the role that innovation, technology and disruption have to play in the insurance and financial services industries as well as the wider economy. He is passionate about the insurance industry as a fantastic place for young professionals to advance their careers and works to widen the diversity and inclusion of the market. 

Matthew Williams

NGIN Vice Chair

Matthew joined RGL Forensics as a Graduate Forensic Accountant in September 2016 after having previously gained experience working in Forensic Insolvency. Originally from Warwickshire, Matthew studied BSc. (Hons) Archaeology at the University of Nottingham where he also trained as an Officer in the Territorial Army and was President of the Universities Fencing Club having competed in foil at a national level. Matthew is also a keen traveller having visited 47 countries to date and also enjoys rowing and rugby.  

Work wise Matthew specialises in the quantification of business interruption losses with an emphasis on energy, chemical and cyber losses. This is coupled with experience in litigation, fraud, valuation and arbitration cases.

Kumari Twitchett

NGIN Secretary

Kumari trained as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in London, after graduating from Durham University with a BA (Hons) in Economics in 2006.  She has previously worked at the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and Grant Thornton in London.  Kumari is now a Manager in the QBE European Operations Internal Audit team, having joined the company in September 2017

Lucinda Sainsbury

NGIN International Officer

After a chance internship at Clyde & Co in her final year at university, Lucinda was hooked. While everyone else at law school was pretending to enjoy/want to go into corporate law, Lucinda was unashamedly getting her insurance geek on reading biographies of Lloyds.

 

She returned to Clyde & Co as a trainee and over the past 5 years has worked in three of its insurance departments. Having also worked in the firm's Dubai office, Lucinda is based in London and an associate in the Property and Liability Insurance team.  

 

With Australian parentage, she is keen to foster relationships with Australian insurance organisations similar to NGIN and, as part of this, is going to Clyde & Co's Sydney office on a secondment.

 

 

Rubina Ruhman

NGIN Outreach Officer

Rubina joined Travelers in 2015 on their graduate programme after studying Politics with Economics at Goldsmiths University. During the scheme, Rubina completed the ACII in just under 17 months alongside work rotations in Media & Entertainment, Financial Institutions and Global Terrorism, later moving into an underwriting role in Media. 

Outside of work, Rubina is fluent in four languages, she enjoys blogging and mountain hiking.

Nicki Savin

NGIN Events Officer

Nicki graduated in Maths with business and management from the university of Manchester in 2015. After travelling around South America she joined James Hallam in October 2016 in the City Corporate team doing commercial business. In her spare time she enjoys playing netball, skiing and travelling. 

Jack Stow

NGIN Events Officer

​Jack joined Munich Re in 2014 on the Graduate programme, after completing an economics degree at the University of Exeter.


During the two year rotational graduate scheme Jack developed a keen interest in the Energy Insurance and Reinsurance industry, and since finishing the scheme has become an Assistant Underwriter in the Oil & Gas Energy team in London.


Outside of work Jack is a keen squash player, runner and rower at the London Rowing Club.

 

Ryan Cooper

NGIN Events Officer

Ryan has over 6 years’ worth of experience working in the insurance industry within the claims sector specialising in motor insurance across a wide range of territories. Ryan’s role at White Oak Underwriting Agency Ltd evolves around adjusting claims, reporting analysis to management as well as third parties/insurers and ensuring claims operations are in place to guarantee an efficient claims & underwriting process. These responsibilities involves making a great number of connections, therefore making a suitable fit to assist NGIN with gaining a greater members base and assisting with the Event planning and organising. 

Katie Folkes

NGIN Mentoring Officer

Katie joined Allianz in 2014 on the Underwriting Graduate Scheme, after graduating from Durham University with a BA in Economics. Whilst at university, Katie completed the Allianz Underwriting Summer Internship, before moving into the Commercial Property and Casualty Team. In August 2018, Katie moved to Antares as a Deputy Underwriter on the International Casualty Treaty Team.
 

Before heading up the NGIN mentoring scheme, Katie took part in the scheme herself. She believes it is a great way to build your network and learn more about different areas of the insurance industry.

Jasmine Shell

NGIN Brand Officer

Jasmine is a Communications Executive at the LMA (Lloyd's Market Association) and has a background in marketing. She also leads  the LMA's 'Engaging with Young Professionals' project which aims to bridge the gap between young professionals and senior leaders. Jasmine studied International Business and Italian at the University of Kent and graduated in 2013. 

 

Outside of work, Jasmine enjoys volunteering and runs a Brownie Guide group for girls aged 7 - 10. She can most likely be found eating or talking about food.

Ellie Webster

NGIN Newsletter Editor

After graduating from the University of Bath with a BSc. (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science, Ellie joined Advent as an Underwriting Assistant in the Property Binders team. More recently, Ellie joined the Property Facilities team at Brit and is excited about this new chapter in her career. 

Ellie took part in the NGIN mentoring event as a mentee, which she found a useful source of advice during her first year in the insurance industry. After attending several events, Ellie decided to become more involved in NGIN and recently joined the committee as Newsletter Editor. Outside of work, Ellie enjoys travelling and is a keen Netball player.

Emma Clarke

NGIN Website Editor

Emma is an Insurance Solicitor and joined DWF LLP in 2017. There she specialises in matters involving  complex and catastrophic injuries. Emma hails from Sheffield and completed her degree in Business Law there before completing training to become a solicitor.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys music and going to festivals, particularly Glastonbury, and is also a keen traveller.

 

Charlie Dubec

Social Media Editor

Charlie joined Willis Towers Watson’s Graduate Development Program after graduating from Manchester University with a degree in Geography. She has rotated three times during the program; US Casualty, Middle East and Africa Affinity and finally into Aerospace. During the program Charlie also spent four months on secondment to Willis Towers Watson New York. Charlie is part way through completing her ACII. Outside of work Charlie is always planning her next travelling trip or finding the next best restaurant in the city.

Ola J Raji

NGIN Champion

A founding member of NGIN and part of a team committed to inspiring and being inspired, Ola has had nearly 3 great years in insurance now. After leaving University College London he had the choice to work for an investment banker or an insurance broking firm.

 

Ola decided to see what a year of broking was like at Arthur J. Gallagher as he had been awarded a university scholarship from the firm. After 6 months he realised that there was such a great opportunity in insurance and  wanted to be a part of this industry for the long term.There is so much creative space for new ideas, innovations and entrepreneurship which are a few of his favourite things. That’s why he is really excited about being a part of insurance and working with the next Generation of talent.
